Course Description

The Meadowmont Classic is a technical, challenging, 0.9 mile loop with six corners and a small-ring hill that racers will climb before finishing on a downhill stretch. Lapped riders are pulled. The race is held rain or shine.

*One juniors race includes two junior groups: ages 10-14 ($75 in prizes, 5 places) and ages 15-18 ($125 in prizes, 6 places).

Field limits: 100 riders (Senior 5/public limited to 50 riders).

On-site registration starts at 8:00 a.m. Registration closes 30 minutes before each race. USCF permit pending. All entrants are required to sign the USCF Standard Release Form at registration, wear a USCF-approved helmet, and be licensed by USCF. Public racers may purchase a one-day USCF license for $10.00 on the day of the race. All USCF rules apply.

Swap Meet

  • Who: The Fitness Swap Meet will be open to all interested participants, per the guidelines below. Racers can participate when they are not racing, and Tri-Cyclists members can participate as long as it does not interfere with their requirements to serve as volunteers at the race.
  • What: Swap anything fitness-related. The Fitness Swap Meet is being held in conjunction with both the Meadowmont Classic Criterium as well as the Meadowmont community Fitness awareness month.
  • Where: The Fitness Swap Meet will be held in the parking lot of the UNC Wellness Center, adjacent to the race course.
  • When: The Fitness Swap Meet will officially open at 8:00 a.m. on race day and run until the completion of the day's racing around 4:30 or 5:00 p.m.
  • Important Details
    • Cost:
      • Participants will be charged $25 per space. Multiple spaces may be rented at the additional cost of $15 per additional space. In the event that participants wish to share a space, there will be an additional charge of $10 per participant for each additional participant.
      • Each space will be the size of two parking spaces in the UNC Wellness Center parking lot.
      • Registration will be available on active.com, or on site on race day. Payment is due at check-in for the Fitness Swap Meet for those participants choosing to register on race day. Participants registering on race day may pay in cash or check only, with checks made out to the Tri-Cyclists BRC.
      • All proceeds from all the Fitness Swap Meet space rentals will go to the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill, with the exception of $5 per entry which will go to race support.
    • Logistics:
      • Vehicular access to the UNC Wellness Center parking will be permitted, but on a very limited basis.
      • Participants who wish to park in the parking lot must do so prior to 8:00 a.m. After 8:00 a.m., no vehicles will be allowed into or out of the parking lot, except in an emergency, until completion of the day's racing around 4:30 or 5:00 p.m. Parking will be at the back of the UNC Wellness Center parking lot with the spaces for the Fitness Swap Meet located towards the front of the parking lot, but clear of the registration and race support areas.
      • Participants will have unlimited access to the parking lot/Fitness Swap Meet on foot. Ample parking will be available in the vicinity of the race site and participants may carry in their swap items from the parking areas. Additionally, participants may spend all or part of the day at the swap meet as long as they enter/exit the parking lot on foot.
      • Participants will be solely responsible for their personal booth setup and the security of any and all of their materials and items associated with the Fitness Swap Meet, i.e., they must provide and protect their own tables, tents and whatever other personal logistics they deem necessary for conduct of the swap.

      • All participants in the Fitness Swap Meet will be subject to a Liability Waiver prior to their participation. This waiver will be available on site and must be prominently displayed at each participant's booth. The waiver includes text to the effect that any transactions at the Fitness Swap Meet are strictly between the participants; that any issues arising from these transactions is strictly between the participants; and that The Tri-Cyclists BRC, UNC Wellness Center, Meadowmont Classic sponsors, the Meadowmont community or any other organizations affiliated with the Meadowmont Classic will be in no way responsible for any transactions between the Fitness Swap Meet participants.
